Hey all. I don't know if y'all listen to 'The Lite' 93.9 WLIT in Chicago, IL. But the morning show personality (Melissa Forman) who is one of my favorite DJS, is leaving. She's being replaced by Whoopi Goldberg on Aug. 14th. I think clearchannel is making a huge, huge mistake!!! I hope after "The Lite" that's not the end of the road for her. I wish her the best of luck, whereever she goes. This Whoopi thing, (I heard clips VIA Premiere Radio networks) yesterday, and it isn't going to work. (sorry) it just isn't. I hate when actresses/actors try to do things they can't! Like Hillary Duff with singing, and now Whoopi Goldberg with radio. (If your an actress/actor, stick to it)! And the strange thing is Melissa just signed a 3 year contract with WLIT, and now she's being let go. I'm really gonna miss her show. Any thoughts/comments on this?

I don't live in il but we go through the same things here. I use to like this one radio station where they had this cool dj on the weekends who was cool and stuff, then during the week they had this guy I didn't like very well, well they ended up removing the cool guy and replaced him with the guy that sucked.

Hey Troy! Aww, yeah that happend to me before with another DJ, (on z 100 in NY) Lisa Taylor. I don't live in Il either, I just listen to WLIT online.And, where I live, are radio stations, and personalities are so horrible! (figures, we're ranked #15, and Chicago is #3). Figures, Chicago has better radio personalities then over here. When Melissa and "The Crue" leave, I'm "Turning Off The Lite".

Amber, you and I need to talk, I love radio as you know and I used to talk to you before. It is of my opinion that Energy 92-7&5 sshould've stayed on air. This is exactly why I record airchecks, cause you never know when your fave jock/station will go off the air. You're never there so I can't talk to you, though I have IM'd you before.

Hey!! Yeah. If possible can somebody record Friday (Aug. 11) show? (that's her last day) I've been trying like crazy to get through! It just rings, and rings! Tomorrows my Birthday, so I'm gonna try again. Wish me luck! And pray I get through!

amber. I'll record it for you. you need to remind me when it starts though. I feel bad for the lite because Whoopie is not goign to last with the way things are going so far. her show is just dreadful. I will be happy to record the show for you.
Hey Leam!!!! Dude!! Your so awesome!!! It starts at 5:00 AM. (to 9:00 AM). I know it. Whoopi makes me sick!! She definatly isn't going to last long!! She's absolutely horrible!!! I can say this right now: Once Melissa leaves, I'm leaving too!! I heard clips of Whoopi VIA premeer (SP?) radio networks, and it's just awefull!!! GRRR!!! Stupid clearchannel!!!!!!! I'm pist!!! I mean, you don't go: "I was saying some naughty things, and 'they told me not to cause I'm starting tomorrow!" what the heck??? She just started this week. (how it can already be syndicated is beyond me!!) WLIT is not only losing an awesome DJ, but an awesome friend!!!! I've corrosponded with Melissa Forman, over the past year through e-mail, and she's one of the nicest people you'll ever talk to. (well in radio anyways). She was very, very, very incouraging, and helpfull towards me, and my carreer. I wish I could've met her. She's a great role moddle, if you ask me. (for anybody who is going into radio, like myself). Okay, I think I'm done rambling now. Thanks again, Leam!! I'll PM you to remind you!

well. it's simple why shoopy is getting sindicated. The station she's on is clear channel, and they have other properties they can put her show on. I think they're making a huge mistake and chicago does not tend to embrace sindicated radio shows. We have a very home town atmosphere about us. Opie and anthony were discussing that a few weeks ago when they were adding chicago as another market.
Hi Liam!! Yeah, it doesn't look like this is going to last very long. (I wasn't to sure on the whole syndicated thing myself). It's a shame the lite is losing Melissa, but maybe another station will pick her up, and have fantastic ratings!

Again, everyone is about money. Why have live, local talent when we can sindecate everyone? Hell why even have radio, just do broagurd programming! The entire on-air staff was let go from both WJJZ and WSNI here in Philly. WSNI is simmocasting WJJZ though not really as they are a song behind. JJZ is going to have woopy in the morning. And why they choose Rhythmic AC is beyond me... Philly has enough Rhythmic music. WDAS-FM and WRNB are both Adult R&B. WRDW and WIOQ are both Rhythmic CHR, though WRDW seems to use Rhythmic CHR as a flirt and sticks more to urban tracks. WPHI and WUSL are both urban. Overkill in our rhythmic town. 106.1 doesn't even have a name yet which to me means 106.1 and 104.5 could be stunting. Its ashaim. More and more live, local personalities are being replaced with sindacation. Isn't woopy's flag station WHTZ in NYC? I thought Elvis and crew were gone, unless woopy and cubby went somewhere else? Hey John. No, Rick Deez left KIIS. (I was mad about that too! Cause I can't stand Ryan Seacrest!). No, the flagship station that Whoopi is "Live" in NY from is WKTU. (thats where Cubby and Whoopi are). I'm suprised that Z100 hasn't picked up Whoopi's show too. Heck, I'm suprised any stations in So Cal havn't picked up Whoopi's show. Watch, in a few months, Whoopi will be on every station in every city, state, and town there is. GRRR!!! Yeah, I saw the Philly stations too. Geez. Whatever happened to live personalities these days? Now it's all syndication. In a few years, that's what it'll be. Im not so sure that there'll be a thing called "Regular Radio" it'll be all programed, just like Jack, Bob, and JILL FM is. It's a shame.
-Amber. All I gotta say, for Melissa's sake, hopefully somebody picks her up. (but she's got a chance at getting picked up) because not only did they let her go, they let Jim (her producer) and Tony (her assistent producer ) go too. Hopefully we'll be hearing them on air soon.
